Krejcikova defeated Jasmine Paolini of Italy in the final in a hard-fought match that ended 7-5, 6-3
Barbora Krejcikova of the Czech Republic has won the 2024 Wimbledon women's singles title after a hard-fought victory over Jasmine Paolini.
Krejcikova, 28, defeated Paolini in straight sets 7-5, 6-3 on Monday, July 10th.
The match was a close one, with both players trading breaks of serve throughout the first set.
Krejcikova eventually took the first set 7-5 and then broke Paolini's serve early in the second set.
She held on to win the second set 6-3 and secure the Wimbledon title.
This is Krejcikova's first Wimbledon title and her second Grand Slam title overall.
She won the 2021 French Open and is currently ranked 11th in the world.
